GLI:N  help you with tips, hands-on items, and effective solutions.

Now that you’ve probably started thinking about the benefits of a sustainable, ecological household with a lifestyle of ease, here are some more ideas elicited from our last post.

IT PRODUCES LITTLE WASTE:

=> it means it has a compost heap, or uses its organic waste to enrich the soil in its surrounding
=> it gets energy-saving bulbs and appliances installed
=> it reduces its energy consumption to an ideal minimum level based on an agreement with the family members with regards to tv, computer, household gadgets
=> it chooses little wrapped products, but wrappings are collected selectively and optimizes  shopping habits accordingly
=> it prefers community transport

IT RECYCLES, UP-CYCLES:

=> it recycles and up-cycles household waste; clothing, furniture -> donated, given away, repurposed

IT CONCIOUSLY PLANS ITS FINANCIAL BUDGET:

=> it keeps records of its income
=> it keeps records of its spending; consciously planned  based on income figures, sustainability
=> it keeps records of its savings; weekly, monthly, annually
=> it attempts to sustain long-term goals rather than short-term luxury

IT USES LITTLE PROCESSED OF ANYTHING:

=> it tries to be as self-supportive as possible
=> it uses little processed food
=> it uses little products with industrial preservatives, mass-produced goods
=> it grows its own food or buys it from locally grown sources
=> it uses eco-friendly detergents, it makes them for themselves
=> it joins the immediate community with sharing/exchanging/recycling events
