This Sunday GLI:N had its first workshop in Rotterdam.

I am always a bit more excited when I start at a new place. Not only the practical things, like do I find a good parking spot, did I check all the necessary equipment at the hosting place but also because the atmosphere of the place. 

I love to feel home where GLI:N takes place. Each time, it reflects me a bit, too. I could not find a better place than Alice in Cakeland in Rotterdam. It is girly, like me. They are selling the best cupcakes in town. I am not joking ! Come and try yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed. The owner is a sweet mother and has eyes for details. Every time when GLI:N is there, we can enjoy her sweet creations. I love it. This is the personal touch of a local business owner that makes the difference. 

GLI:N Natural Soap Making Workshop

I more and more experience that the Glinies who join the workshops are close to me. We think similarly about the importance of our family`s health, mentally, physically and emotionally as well. This gives a solid ground to develop their own personalized GLI:N natural products at the workshop. It is so nice to see that they listen to their instinct about choosing the right essential oils for them.

If I need to say only two words about how I feel on the GLI:N Workshop, I would probably tell: Green Spirit.

Green spirit which means, that we care about us, our family, our friends, our closest surroundings and also our global environment. 

I do believe we make something unique together for the future. For our future. For our children's future. That keeps me moving forward.

You and me together at your place. 
You will have all the attention, the unique time and the professional support on your side. You will define what we are going to make on the VIP GLI:N Workshop. 
This time, Anita wanted to try a new soap making method.

 Next Sunday, the GLI:N tour goes to Alkmaar. HAL72 will host the next GLI:N Workshops.
In the morning we will make organic , natural soap and in the afternoon we will make eco-friendly cleaning detergent.

GLI:N Weekend Round Up: Rotterdam and Almere

Hello Glinies,

I had again the delight to get to know lovely, new people at this weekend.

On Saturday, I was in Rotterdam at the Alice in Cakeland cupcake shop. This special girly place will host the GLI:N Workshop as of now. Every first Sunday of the month, you will be able to attend on the Natural Soap Making Workshops at 10.00 o`clock. You will learn how to make your very own soap! Like the real deal soap from raw materials, completely and totally healthy with zero chemicals - all natural and full of good things. You will get a step by step tutorial how to make CP Soap, You will design your own recipe and you will bring 1000 grams of soap to home. 

As of 1.30 pm you will learn how to handle your clothing in a green & clean way. You will make not only 4 liters of ecological washing detergent that is ready to use in your washing-machine and a 1 liter of natural textile softener but you will learn how to handel all kinds of stains with natural products, how to save your time with a good washing routine. Your clothing and your will love it as well.
I cannot wait to start the GLI:N Workshops in Rotterdam from 05th of October. Only two weeks and we rock Rotterdam.

On Sunday I had the Soap Making Workshop and Eco Wash Workshop at the first time in Almere.  Did you miss the opportunity to join us this time? No worries, every last Sunday of the month you can attend on these workshops. 

So this was for this weekend. This week I will visit my mother in Hungary with my son during the week, but on Sunday you can meet me in Almere and try all these natural beauties on the StreekParade. I will be at the stand of Onze volkstuinen Almere. I will have a surprise for you ! Come and say hello.

GLI:N Weekend Round up: video shooting and biological soap making workshop in Alkmaar

Hello Glinies, 

Back to basics, here is my last weekend's short overview.

I had a fantastic day on Sunday. It was special for several reasons.

First of all, it was my first video shooting for GLI:N. wow...I decided to create a one minute long, short but talkative shot about GLI:N: GLI:N at a glance.

The preparation got me busy all week long. I planned certain things that were ready on time, and of course, I had things that I could not manage on time, just like nice, green aprons with the GLI:N logo on. Yes, it was my fault. I started to organize it too late. 

For 7, long  days, I had been breathing GLI:N in, and out. 

I practised my text in front of the mirror in the morning and in the evening. We spent our evenings with my husband on the couch together, as usual. But this time I was repeating my short text 10 times before I got my good night kiss. I even recorded on my phone to see how it would look and sound like...bad idea....after that I got nervous. 
-Have you ever watched yourself back? 
In the past, I gave speeches for small and bigger audience. I knew how it felt. I knew practice helps a lot. 
Still, this time it was for my OWN business. 
This time I was the one, who set the standard high. 
I wanted to do my ever best.

The day came. 
I was surrounded with really good people. 
While we were setting up the decoration, I got relaxed. They were all enthusiastic about GLI:N. So it was the right settings. 
And you know what, I got a warm smile from my friend who did the shooting. No matter , if I needed to start the same sentence again the third time, she stayed positive and said: it will be gorgeous Rita. 
I believed in her. 

The shooting hour was gone so fast that I had no time to realize that I was doing my next dutch workshop with 3 sweet ladies from Alkmaar. I just cannot describe how much I like to do this. 
Each time I feel so lucky that people open up and learn something new that makes them happy. 

We created beautiful biological soap combinations like:
* lemon- oat meal
* bergamon-oat meal
* ginger-wild orange

You know, what is even better? 
That the next day, I got nice mails from them, that they love their soaps, smells really nice and they cannot wait to start using them. 

For the next week, I will have a full weekend.
First, I will go to Rotterdam and the first time, I will meet green minded people there. 
I will do a short demo party where people can see how they can prepare the washing detergent. They can also try out the different GLI:N products, like natural soaps and creams.

But most of all, I will have the opportunity to listen to them. 
I will be there for them. 
Help them to find their own way of creating a green & clean lifestyle/ family style.

On Sunday , I am heading Almere where first we will make natural soaps and in the afternoon we will learn how to clean your clothing in a green way.

So let`s prepare these events now.

GLI:N Dinner Tip: White bean mash with fresh parsley and lemon oil (doTERRA)

Hello Glinies, 

As you know, not long ago, I discovered the doTERRA oils and even the wonderful world of cooking with essential oils. From that on, I am experimenting with our dinner dishes. I must say with success. My boys love these dishes even without knowing that I am flavouring them with essential oils. The good thing that I love about cooking with them, that they are so pure, you get just the amazing extra fine flavour and it doesn`t taste oily or so. Of course you only need a drop or two, thanks for the pureness of these products.

Here is my last creation.

White bean mash with fresh parsley and lemon oil

Ingredients:

200gram of white beans ( or any other that you like)
1 avocado
1 tiny chunk of garlic ( you can use more for a stronger taste of course)
1 handful of fresh parsley
1 handful of fresh basil
3-4 leaves of citrone mellise 
1 teaspoon of apple cider
 a pinch of sea salt
1-2 drops of doTERRA lemon oil
100ml of olive oil

Process:

1. Soak the beans in water for the night 
2. Cook the beans till soft and let them cool
3. Add the other ingredients
4. Blend them together. ( Based on your taste you can add more oil.)

Enjoy

My son ate as a side dish with grilled fish , I love it as a dipper with a bit of more oil with.

GLI:N Midweek Tips: Beginners guide to green your dish washing detergent

Ok, now that you are hooked with home made, vegan , biological cosmetic products like soap, body butter, lip balm and sunscreen, now it is time to green our household step by step. 
 

As a mother, or the manager of a family logistical center, where do you spend most of your time?


Yes, in the K I T C H E N.

So after cooking , hopefully with lots of fresh, veggies and fruits the most hated part of the housework comes: washing the dishes.
In the old days , our mothers used soap and hot water. Of course, evolution did not stop, so one day, the dishwasher was invented. Great, you as a busy mother you can quickly put all the dirty dishes in it, add a tablet, push the bottom , close the door and ready. Everything is on order and after a few hours the dishes are clean too. Win-win.

Let me stop for a second. Do we really need a machine? Is it environmental friendly? Is it good for our health? 
 

There are certain answers that we can give. But it feels already overwhelming to go entirely green at home. 


So let me give you advice little by little, a piece of alteration at a time. 


Start with your kitchen. 

You do not need to throw away your dishwasher even. 
Just be conscious about what you put in, how and when.

Here are a few tips that you can easily adapt in your daily routine.

LETS CHANGE THE WASHING DETERGENT IN YOUR DISHWASHER AND FINE TUNE YOUR METHOD OF USING THE MACHINE.

First of all, I would like to warn you, it is a TRIAL AND ERROR PROCESS.

Your green washing success depends on a lot of different things at the same time. 
I encourage you to take this adventure and do not quit after the first or second bad result.

It will be fine, you just need to learn your machine and your ingredients.

Your success depends on :
-the size of your dishwasher
-how many dishes you put in
-how dirty they are
-on which temperature you are washing
-how your machine allocates the water
-on which pressure it gives the water
-the proportion of the washing detergent ingredients
-the strength of the vinegar that you use
-how much powder you use


What are the natural ingredients that you can use to wash your dishes in your dishwasher?
-salt
-citric acid
-borax (optional)
-baking soda
-vinegar

GLI:N Workshops Planning Autumn 2014

Hello Glinies,

It was a long long summer holiday.
Oh, no, it was a short summer period here in the Netherlands.
So, in the last three weeks I felt already that the summer is over. Also the school starts earlier, like middle of August which also gave me the feeling: oh, it is Autumn already.

So let`s start this fall season with great news. :)

GLI:N Summer Holiday

Hello Glinies, I was a bit silent this week, due to a small wasp accident and now getting ready for our Holiday. 

Which means in the coming two weeks there are no workshops planned, no Pop up events. I will use wisely this period to recharge myself and get new ideas. I hope you will enjoy your holiday soon, as well.
GLI:N will continue the workshops as of mid August.
